WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COURSE 1: AN INTRODUCTION TO SPIRITUAL PSYCHOLOGY AND COURSE 2: LOYALTY TO YOUR SOUL®—FOUNDATIONS? WHAT ARE THESE OFFERINGS AND HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Course 1: An Introduction to Spiritual Psychology is a prerequisite for Course 2: Loyalty to Your Soul®—Foundations, USM Online’s transformational eight-week program that shares with you eight foundational skills of Spiritual Psychology. Course 1: An Introduction to Spiritual Psychology is continually available and can be taken anytime for free. Course 2: Loyalty to Your Soul®—Foundations is available for purchase.

You can purchase Course 2 even if you haven’t yet taken Course 1, and the first week of the eight-week Course 2 Program is the Course 1 curriculum for everyone.

If you are new to USM Online and would like to participate in Course 1, please register here.

HOW CAN I GAIN ACCESS TO THE WORLDWIDE SOUL-CENTERED MEMBERSHIP? WHAT KINDS OF FEATURES ARE AVAILABLE THERE?

The USM Worldwide Soul Center is a companion offering that comes with your purchase of Course 2. Within it, you will find tools to help support you in integrating and practicing the Spiritual Psychology Principles and Practices you will be learning in the Course. Some of these tools include an online Journal, a Life Overview Assessment, and the Love & Light Center. Also included in the Membership Site is the USM Online Community Forum, which provides a place to connect, share, and interact with spiritually minded participants.

When you purchase Course 2, you will have full access to the Worldwide Soul-Centered Membership Site for the duration of the Course. If you complete Course 2, you will have full access to the Worldwide Soul-Centered Membership Site for an entire year.

DOES IT MATTER IF I USE A WINDOWS-BASED COMPUTER OR A MAC?

No, as USM Online (including both Course 1 and Course 2) are Web-based offerings, it does not matter if you are using a Windows-based computer or a Mac computer. Our site and Courseware are compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.

I’M HAVING TROUBLE SIGNING IN / WHAT IS MY USERNAME?

If you have trouble signing in, check two things before reaching out to Member Support. It is possible you are using the incorrect Username or Password. Your Username will always be the e-mail address you used to register, and your Password will be what you used to register as well.

If you forgot your password, you can request a link to reset your password. (Please see WHAT IF I FORGOT MY PASSWORD? and HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD? below)

If this information does not resolve an issue you’re experiencing, please contact Member Support.

WHAT IF I FORGOT MY PASSWORD?

On the USM Online home page, in the upper right-hand corner under the field asking for your Username and Password is a link that assists you when you have forgotten your password.

This link will take you to a page that asks for your e-mail address:

Enter your e-mail address and you will get two sets of e-mails in your inbox. The first e-mail will confirm your e-mail address and contains a link to retrieve a second e-mail that will contain your temporary password.

Once you have logged in from www.usmonline.org with your original Username (your e-mail address) and new temporary Password, be sure to change your password to something more personal that you will remember so you can sign in easily moving forward. Also see HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD?

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD?

Once you are signed in, you can change your password by following the directions below.

1) After logging in, click on the arrow next to your name and select the "My Account" link.

2) From here, you can select the "Change password" option.

3) Fill in the information on the screen depicted below, then click "Save."

WHY ISN’T THE COURSEWARE WORKING ON MY IPAD, TABLET, OR MOBILE DEVICE?

The USM Online Program is currently not iDevice or Tablet compatible. Stay tuned for this additional feature!

WHEN I CLICK THE BUTTON TO START THE COURSE, NOTHING HAPPENS. I HEAR A BELL CHIME BUT DO NOT SEE ANYTHING ON MY SCREEN.

The Course exists in a separate Window and operates using a program called Adobe Flash. Sometimes after clicking the “START COURSE” button, the Course Window does not appear to open. This may be happening for one of two reasons:

1) The first possibility is that the Course Window may be behind larger browser windows that display the Web page you are on. Try closing or shrinking all open windows to see if the Course Window is hiding behind anything.

2) The second, more common possibility has to do with your Pop-Up Window Settings. Wisely, most computers today automatically block “Pop-Up Windows.” Here is a link to a WikiHow Allow Pop-Ups Web page that has information on how to enable Pop-Up Windows in the top four Internet Browsers. Once you have enabled Pop-Up Windows on your computer, close the window you were previously working in and start again to begin the Course. If the Course Window still does not open, check the url bar for an image of a little page with a red X on it. If that appears, click on it and follow the instructions.

CAN I MAKE THE COURSE WINDOW FULL SCREEN?

The answer is, not exactly, but our very own President, Ron Hulnick, found a trick to re-create Full Screen!

The first thing to do is take your mouse to the lower right-hand corner of the window and drag to enlarge it. The screen will then look like this:

On a Mac keyboard, press the Command key (⌘) and the Plus key (+) at the same time.

 &

On a PC keyboard, press the Control key (Ctrl) and the Plus key (+) at the same time.

 &

This will create a zoom effect and the window will enlarge each time you press the Plus Key (+).

Here’s an example of the window after several clicks:

To shrink it again or adjust sizing to your preference, you can press the Command (Mac) or Control (PC) key and the Minus key (-) at the same time.

TROUBLE PROGRESSING THROUGH THE COURSE

To progress within the Course, there is a “Next” button on the lower right-hand side of the Training Course Window. Your browser settings might be set so that you cannot see the “Next” button. As a result, you cannot move forward without visible access to the “Next” button.

To remedy this on a Mac keyboard, press the Command key (⌘) and the Minus key (-) at the same time until you can see the full screen.

 &

To remedy this on a PC keyboard, press the Control key (Ctrl) and the Minus key (-) at the same time until you can see the full screen.

 &

Note: this is how you can generally zoom-in or zoom-out on your keyboards. To zoom-in, do the same as above with the Plus key (+).

CAN I GO FORWARD OR BACKWARD A FEW SECONDS (SCRUB TRACK) WITHIN THE VIDEOS OR SCREENS?

You’ll notice the scrub bar appears at the bottom of the video once the video completes, which allows you to move backward and forward.

Please note: if you scrub the video, it will play only the video, not any accompanying graphics or text on the interactive screen. If you want to scrub (or rewind) to a certain part of both the video and the on-screen graphics or text, you’ll need to reload the entire screen by clicking the “Reload” button (pictured below).

Also, if you do miss something in a screen, you can always reload the entire screen back to the beginning by clicking the “Reload” button.

If this information does not resolve an issue you’re experiencing, please contact Member Support.

WHY IS THE SCREEN TAKING SO LONG TO LOAD? AND ONCE IT STARTS, SOMETIMES IT PAUSES. WHY?

This could be one of two things.

First, it may be time for a Flash upgrade! To check if your computer is running the most current version of Adobe Flash, go to their Web site and follow instructions for a Flash Update.

The second thing this may be is a bandwidth issue. The Courseware works best with a 3Mbps or greater download speed. This means if you are on a network at a coffee shop and there are 30 people using the Wi-Fi connection, your video may play slowly and/or start and stop periodically. If you are unsure of your Internet connection, go to www.speedtest.net to verify your download speed.

For a complete list of the system requirements needed in order to run the Courseware, as well as our system recommendations for how to best optimize your Courseware experience, please see WHAT ARE THE PREFERRED BROWSER REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESSING USM ONLINE? listed above.

WHEN I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE COURSE AND I LOG OUT OR TIME OUT OF THE SITE, WILL IT REMEMBER WHERE I LEFT OFF?

Yes, our Courseware will bookmark your progress and let you return to where you left off so you will never lose your place and can take the Course in your own time.
